No doubt, “I Need You Now” by Sinnamon is one of the most sampled recordings ever. During the past three decades, this R & B/Soul/Dance/Funk/Electronic track has become a classic club anthem. Now, thanks to a skillfully edited version of the original recording dubbed “I Need You Now (Moplen Edit)” by Luca Locatelli, Stevette Music is pleased to be a part of the 30th Anniversary re-mastered release of this timeless masterpiece.
Included on this release is a bonus of the song’s very basic tracks from a cassette tape that has also endured and survived over this period of time. It represents a point in time, in fact 1979, when five very young men, barely in their twenties, went into a studio totally unrehearsed, and “nailed” those tracks in one take. Later, on overdubbed tracks, Andre Booth who wrote “This Beat Is Mine” by Vickie D, would become one of the first keyboard players to utilize a synthesizer on a dance record. On subsequent overdubs, R. Bernard Fowler would lend his powerful voice to the song as lead & background vocalist. LaForrest Cope, who wrote Whitney Houstin’s “You Give Good Love”’ and Jacqueline Sampson would also contribute their soulful vocals as background singers.
I am confident that all will enjoy this latest rendition, true to the original version.

“Unfinished Business” by Cbatch & Herring is a collection of songs written over the last several decades that were recorded in and out of the studio. The recordings are in their most raw unpolished and basic forms, with one, “Will This Be The Last Time”, gleaned from a 4- track demo cassette tape done right in a living room of an apartment where I once lived at Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City, New York.
The tunes are all representative of the many ideas that flowed and resulted from what I feel was the most prolific and creative period of my life. Much of this music came very close to being published, but until now, has not been. I have now decided to release these works to the public for whom they were intended for consideration, simply because it is time to do so.
Several of the songs are performed by James “Buddy” Herring, who was for many years my vocalist and co-writer. In addition, there are many other musicians and artists who also contributed performances to some of these tracks, that I thank here for their participation. You know who you are.
I do hope that this “old school” collection will be well received by all.

"Send You My Love", is a song that may not have been written if not for my persistent nagging. You see, Steve had a rack of cassette tapes filled with music. Many of them had no lyrics, which was right up my alley. Every time Steve played a track, he had to stop because I would interrupt by shouting, “go back…go back to that track, it sounds good!” You got something?” he would ask. The phrase, send you my love, stuck in my mind. Steve was recording my vocals each time the track was played, verse after verse.
Looking back now, it's hard to believe the sound quality coming from the equipment he had at the time. A Tascam 4-track cassette recorder, mini Casio keyboard, an Alesis MMT-8 sequencer, eight track Yamaha mixer, Roland sound module and sampler, Yamaha TX 81Z, and a $20 dollar Realistic microphone purchased from Radio Shack. All used to create fantastic 4-track demos.
We would later re-record those same sequenced tracks for what became “Send U My Love” in a professional recording studio. My lead vocal was replaced with that of Debbie Commodore. Some guitar was also added. The guitar solo and rhythm guitar parts were played by guitar wizard/god, Michael Bailey. That version is appropriately titled, "Send U My Love (The Fierce Guitar Reprise)" and is also on the EP, along with three other versions of the song.
You can purchase “Send U My Love” and the new album titled, "Unfinished Business" by CBatch & Herring on I-Tunes, Amazon, Cd Baby, and YouTube.

Someone once told me that one’s passion is not necessarily everyone's passion. The same can be said of relationships. An expectation of one, when it comes to romance, may not be the expectation of another in the same romantic partnership.
Found What’s Right For Me (Back In Control Of My Life) is about a one sided relationship. It is essentially a song about survival, liberation, empowerment, and ultimately regaining control over one’s life and destiny.
It is hoped that this most recent work will be loved and well received by all.
